Free Show!A smidgen of this, a dash of that — come on over, we’re making soup!Smidgen is equal parts Summer Apostol and Dylan Tietze, a pair of self-taught artists currently based in Dylan's point of origin, Northeast Texas. Meeting at an open mic in Jacksonville, FL after Summer had returned home from her ten years in the Appalachian Mountains, Smidgen was born a few months later on King St. neath the full moon of Halloween. By December of that same year they had recorded an eight song CD titled "mustard seed" with friends from the Connex providing banjo, fiddle and bass. Recorded live to cassette around a single mic, it's a raw capturing of Smidgens earliest form.Since March of '26 they have been traveling Texas and the Southwest, busking and playing open mics in towns scattered along the way. Distributing handmade copies of "mustard seed,” borrowing sounds from the past to communicate their hope for the future. Jenna Greene is an Appalachian singer and songwriter from Abingdon, VA, blending her bluegrass roots with folky undertones. Her voice is graceful and haunting with a bit of grit. She is honest in her writing and performance, sharing stories of love and heartbreak through fluid melodies, tasteful lyrics and a keen sense for simplicity. She self recorded and produced her debut EP “Live at Black Fox Studio” this year, which is available on most streaming platforms. With only 4 songs on the record, it is a true sample of what a live Jenna show experience is like - raw and unashamed.
