29TH STREET BALLROOM

29th Street Ballroom sits at 2906 Fruth Street in the campus-adjacent neighborhood near UT, occupying the same address that previously housed the Spider House Ballroom. The space is now managed by the crew behind Hotel Vegas, Kinda Tropical, Tweedy's, Little Darlin', Chess Club, Yellow Jacket Social Club, and the booking operation Resound Presents. That pedigree tells you a lot about what to expect: solid sound, interesting bookings, and a room that prioritizes the music without taking itself too seriously. The venue describes itself as a tribute to what has come before and what is coming next, which is a fitting way to put it given the address has been hosting events and culture for over twenty-five years.
