MOODY AMPHITHEATER

Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park is a 5,000-capacity open-air venue in the heart of downtown Austin, nestled within 11 acres of revitalized green space along Waterloo Greenway. The amphitheater opened in 2021 and quickly established itself as one of the best outdoor concert experiences in the city, winning a USA Today Readers' Choice Award for Best Amphitheater in the country in 2025. The design, by Thomas Phifer and Partners, integrates the stage and seating into the natural landscape of the park, with a large grass lawn that comfortably fits the full capacity. When there are no concerts, the amphitheater functions as a public park space where anyone can picnic, play, or even perform on the stage. The concert series, run in partnership with C3 Presents and Live Nation, brings a diverse lineup that has included everyone from Khruangbin and Pixies to Turnstile and Father John Misty. The venue also hosts the Austin Blues Festival, community events, yoga classes, movies in the park, and two-step nights. Waterloo Park itself has been part of Austin since 1978, hosting events like Fun Fun Fun Fest and Spamarama over the years. The new amphitheater builds on that legacy while adding production quality and infrastructure that rivals anything in the state. The combination of a beautiful park setting, downtown accessibility, and a commitment to community programming makes Moody Amphitheater feel like it belongs to the city in a way that most concert venues do not.
